Good morning from Drop Down Sport Fish Charters here in beautiful Saint Augustine Florida. The weather is currently hot and sunny 83° with north east winds 15 kn seas 3 to 5 feet moderate chop. Offshore fishing charters in Saint Augustine, Florida with Drop Down Sport Fish Charters this august have been hot as always. The deepsea fishing charters are producing vermilion snapper , few trigger fish, amberjack Cobia and other reef fish. Drop Down Sport Fish Charters have been leaving an hour early on charters to beat the heat, and it’s paid off. We have been getting our limit of snappers bottom fishing by 10am and then try trolling around a few hours for some kingfish or sail fish. Inshore fishing charters or backcountry fishing has been slow. The shallow water is very hot and the redfish curious. I would target deep moving water spots with clean currents such as bridges or inlets. The bait of choice this time of year would be mullet or blue crab.
