Good morning here from Drop Down Sport Fish Charters in the top vacation destination of the USA St.Augustine Florida. 2018 has been a good start, and the fishing has been too. I had quite a few inshore fishing charters this weekend and we did well! Lots of smaller redfish with a couple nice slot fish. A few big trout swimming around too! When targeting these fish I have been using a live shrimp on a pop and cork. Also we caught a couple on jig heads with gulp paddle tails. Offshore fishing charters and deepsea fishing charters will be really good in another month. As soon as the water gets near 70 degrees and the bait shows up offshore, all species of fish will be chewing. If your thinking about booking a offshore or deepsea fishing trip, dates are filling up quickly so don’t hesitate to call and book your reservation. Till next time... let’s go fishing on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters!

 Bait: ballyhoo

Water temp: 53 degrees

Water depth: 160 -500ft

What's biting: wahoo, big red snapper

Offshore fishing charters in February here in St. Augustine Florida can be the month to catch big wahoo. I’d say this whole month providing you can get out there is your best bet for a slob. No doubt the high speed troll game is catching on and it can definitely produce some numbers. One thing I like about high speed trolling is it deletes the other bites from trash fish like barracuda, Bonita, bluefish other species because for the most part only wahoo are gonna strike a lure going up to 20knts!!! If you want to go deep sea fishing offshore and catch a big wahoo give us a call let’s see if we can’t make it happen on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters. Let’s go fishing!

Late January here in st. Augustine Florida, for Drop Down Sport Fish Charters prolly our slowest month. Cold and windy fronts make for few nice days to fish. A lot of boat maintenance and taking care of my one year old son takes most of my time.
