The dog days of summer are here and fishing in St.Augustine Florida is still great on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters! As we hit the month of April, fishing can be a little tricky. Sometimes the fish will be chewing and othertimes lock jawed. With the tropical storms and hurricanes approaching the barametric pressure will fluctuate and so will the bite. I always like to fish a week before a storm or front, and maybe 2-3 days after the storm passes. The moon phase is also a key factor, depending on the fishing you plan, some full moon night bites can be the absolute best and Mangrove Snapper are one of many. If you are ready to get on a good fishing charter before the summer ends don't hesitate and book with us on Drop Down Charters here in the oldest city St.Augustine Florida. Let's go fishing!

Still solid fishing here in St.Augustine Florida the oldest city in the nation! Fishing on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters we have been running charters every day and are dialed in on the fish. I've had a lot of fullday trips which we have been fishing 100ft. The bait has been scattered but if you spend enough time you can get some minnows. Blasting from the bait spot to the fishing grounds and always looking at the bottom finder in search of new fishing spots. Once at the destination, anchor up and get in line with the wreck your fishing. Make sure your chum slick is running across the desired fishing area. From there you should be able to hone in on snapper and other bottom fish. After a good chum slick keep your eyes peeled for other pelagics that could swim up the back of the boat looking for the next chunk of bait. Till then come book your trip on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters and let's go fishing!

All you half dayers that want to catch some nice fish but don't want to be out there in the heat all day now is the time to get the last of the constant troll bite. The bait has been pretty  hit or miss and I like to be ready and troll early so I've been skipping the bait and just trolling artificial lures. It's been very productive and still catching a lot of kingfish, barracuda, cobia, and boneheads. Head offshore to the live bottom or structure in 65ft and troll around. Look for any signs of life. Birds, baitfish, or weed line all hold Fish. Come book your trip on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters and let's go fishing!
