Good afternoon from Drop Down Sport Fish Charters here in the oldest city in the nation Saint Augustine Florida. The weather here is currently 66° partly cloudy and very breezy with 20 knot winds out of the north seas 5 to 7 feet choppy. The offshore fishing charters here in Saint Augustine have been a little bit funky the last week or so with some cold dirty water lingering around. I have had some shorter offshore fishing charters this past week and the small chicken snapper have taken over. We caught 100+ red snapper and only 11 Vermilion snapper. Red snapper are definitely not endangered and I wish the Fwc and Noaa fisheries would take more action and give us a longer season than 3-5 days of open season. Offshore fishing charters at the Gulfstream in St.Augustine will start getting good and the pelagics like sail fish, wahoo, tuna fish, mahi and even blue marlin will be passing by us any day. Deep sea fishing charters for Cobia should also be getting better. Always have multiple ways to catch cobia and amberjack or other pelagics that could swim up. If your looking to go offshore fishing in St.Augustine Florida give Drop Down Sport Fish Charters a call and let’s go fishing!!

Good morning from Drop Down Sport Fish Charters in the oldest city St. Augustine Florida. The weather here in St Augustine is sunny with west winds 10-15knots and a warm 76 degrees. The offshore fishing in St. Augustine Florida in March is decent but gets better towards the end of the month. Offshore fishing for black fin tuna will start producing more into April along with other offshore pelagics such as Mahi, sailfish and wahoo. Even the occasional Blue marlin will show up in the spread and swipe at some baits. As for deepsea bottom fishing on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters , the usual offshore suspects such as vermillion snapper, trigger fish, pink porgys, amberjack, mutton snapper, a few mango snapper and of course the red devil (red snapper) are all Biting. Double rigs seem to work best for getting some meat in the boat. Then work to a single rig set up with 100lb test main line and some heavy leader. Big live baits seem to work best for big bites! If your in the area of St. Augustine Florida and want to do a offshore fishing charter give us a call on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters today and let’s go fishing!!!!

Good afternoon from Drop Down Sport Fish Charters the premier offshore fishing charter located here in St.Augustine Florida. Today is February 6, 2021 and the weather outside is cloudy with rain, about 50 degrees and winds out of the northeast at 10-15 knots. The ocean is about 3-5 ft and choppy. Not the best conditions but typical this time of year. Offshore fishing charters in February can be hit or miss fishing. The big wahoo are around, some in the triple digits. High speed trolling seems to be the trick now and up to 20knots. High speed trolling for wahoo offshore is a great way to cover ground and find the bite. Although I’m still a bait fisherman I can see the advantage when fishing for wahoo alone. Other offshore species that are around on deep sea fishing charters are big amberjack and Cobia. Along w the regular offshore fish like vermilion snapper tigger fishing and pink porgy. If you are looking for a offshore/ deepsea fishing charter this spring from March out you need to give us a call to reserve your spot, dates are already half full. Let’s go catching on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters!!!

Good morning here from Drop Down Sport Fish Charters in the oldest city st. Augustine Florida. Its only a matter of time and the brown clown will be showing up on the beach and offshore wrecks in numbers. The water is still alil bit to cold but when it’s gets up to 70 degrees it should be game on. The bait will be here and the fish will be too. When I Fish for cobia offshore I like to have multiple rods ready with different rigs. These fish nowadays get beat up on so bad in south Florida the time they get here they have seen every jig and bait thrown at them. So having a nice arsenal of rigs can make all the difference in catching one or six! Preparation is everything. The wahoo bite is also around with fish up to 80lbs. Horse ballyhoo on the deep line will get the job done and if you want to specifically target the bigger wahoo high speed trolling is your best bet! If your thinking about booking a trip don’t hesitate to call and set up a reservation, dates are filling up fast. Till next time tight lines from Drop Down Charters! Let’s go fishing! 9045018572

 Bait: live shrimp

Water temp: 78 degrees

Water depth: 4- 8 ft

What's biting: redfish, trout, flounder, blackdrum

Inshore fishing can be hot this time of year  with plenty of action. Not many people  relize, but St. Augustine Florida is a great place for backcountry fishing. We have tons of marsh creeks and a lot of water to travel. I have a lot clients that like to target redfish. When I Fish for redfish I like to use a fish finder rig with just enough lead to hold the bottom. About a foot leader and circle hook is really all you need. Deepsea fishing and offshore have been hit or miss. The ocean has been very rough and my deep sea offshore trips have been getting cancelled. Hopes the ocean lays down so we can bust out the gulfstream soon and do some trolling for sailfish and wahoo. Let’s go fishing on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters!!!
